Our Farm's History

How Our Journey Began

The roots of Jacob’s Reward Farm run deeper than our official nonprofit beginning on October 21st, 2022. Long before the paperwork was filed or the first crop was planted, our founder Cindy Telisak had a vision—of a place where people could reconnect with themselves, find purpose in serving others, and become part of a community built on compassion and hard work.

Where The Farm Is Now

Today, Jacob’s Reward Farm thrives on 4.5 acres of Texas soil—small but mighty in its impact. Each Saturday, volunteers gather to roll up their sleeves and take part in hands-on workshops, lending their time and talents to help us grow in every sense of the word.

We’ve already begun expanding our reach with the launch of our very first satellite garden at Faith Church Anglican in Fairview—a promising step toward feeding even more families in need. From time to time, we host seasonal plant and craft sales, offering our own goods to the community to support farm operations and deepen local engagement.

On the farm, our flocks of chickens and quail provide fresh eggs and meat year-round, helping sustain both our donation efforts and product offerings. Our work even caught the attention of Channel 11, where we were featured during the egg shortage crisis.

And as we continue to grow, so does our network of partners who show up, step in, and stand with us in our mission to make a lasting difference.

Looking Ahead: Our Long-Term Goals

At Jacob’s Reward Farm, we see each season not just as a chance to grow food, but to grow the mission itself. As we look toward the future, our goals are clear, heartfelt, and rooted in the desire to give more, teach more, and serve more.

The majority of our farm runs on the time and talents of passionate volunteers and interns. That’s why we’re working to grow our team with individuals who are ready to roll up their sleeves and make a lasting difference. Whether you’re interested in livestock care, communications, or exploring sustainable permaculture, there’s a place for you here.
Farming isn’t easy—and it certainly isn’t cheap. But with the help of generous donors and committed community partners, we believe we can turn dreams into harvests. We’re currently seeking long-term supporters who can help us secure essential equipment, improve our infrastructure, and grow our capacity to serve. Every dollar and donation brings us one step closer to a farm that feeds even more families in need.
It’s simple: the more we grow, the more we can give. When we’re able to expand our animal enclosures, we can donate more meat. When we cultivate more produce, we can supply more food banks. Every improvement to our farm increases the impact we have in the community. Our ultimate hope? To become a meaningful part of the solution to hunger in Texas.
